Yoga High

Work worries, economy woes and the desire to hibernate until April can all be alleviated with a calming yoga class in a calming atmosphere. In Manhattan, the Lower East Side’s Yoga High answers the cry of stressed out yogis and yoginis everywhere by offering uplifting and powerful classes in a planet friendly studio.

To help counter Wall Street’s collapse, Yoga High started offering free Sunday afternoon classes way back in the fall, making it one of the first studios to respond to the economic crisis in NYC. Even better, the inviting studio encourages students to “choose green” by using all-natural mat sprays instead of harsh chemicals, practicing with a Jade Yoga mat (a company notorious for its environmental stewardship), and keeping it local by supporting neighborhood businesses. We’ll OM to that.

Also, be sure to unroll your mat today for Yoga Day USA (Saturday, January 24), when studios, parks, and gyms across the country open their doors for free classes and workshops. Now that’s yoga to the people.
