Eco-Beautiful, Hollywood Style

There was a point in time when no one thought that “eco,” “beautiful,” “hollywood,” and “style” would ever appear in the same sentence. But alas, the time has come and Lina Hanson’s new book, Eco-Beautiful: The Ultimate Guide to Natural Beauty and Wellness, has arrived chock full of insider tips and step-by-step guides to a variety of beauty looks - from “business chic” to “green carpet ready.” (more…)

Juice Me From Head to Toe

With organic food proving to be more than a passing fad, shifting the focus from what goes into our bodies to what we slather onto them seems like a natural progression (60% gets absorbed into skin, so it is pretty similar to eating what you put on it anyway).

Juice Beauty is an organic skincare line we’ve followed from day one, happily cheering them on as they exploded into stores like Sephora and Whole Foods. Not to mention the entire ecofabulous staff uses many of their products daily. The Antioxidant Body Moisturizer (with SPF) smells down right delicious and feels silky smooth. And the SPF 30 Mineral Tinted Moisturizer is perfect for daily coverage in the summer.

What’s really exciting, though, is that Juice Beauty has been taking even more eco-strides in their business. Not only do they source local, organic ingredients, they use packaging that is all 100% recycled and recyclable and printing everything with soy-based inks. Free from anything bad for both human and environmental health (which are one-and-the-same as far as we’re concerned), Juice Beauty products offer a resolution for those fed up with all the “dirty” stuff imbuing our skincare regimes.

Chocolate Sun Kissed

Buddha Has the Power to Banish

Though we don’t expect a balm to banish all signs of PMS (and I’m not admitting to ever falling victim to it), this one from Buddha Nose uses organic and wild-crafted essential oils (in particular: clary sage, rose, geranium, ginger root and black pepper) that can be rubbed onto the belly to promote hormone balance and circulation. In addition, the Girl Balm uses unrefined beeswax (vegans beware), organic hemp seed oil and jojoba to soothe and soften the skin. For surprising relief on those days (even if it only comes from the seductive, recyclable packaging), the Girl Balm is the bomb!

Advice from Auntie Flo

Riding the crimson wave. Time of the month. A visit from Auntie Flo. Whatever you call it, you know what we’re talking about. Each month you go through the same process – painful cramps, making sure you’re stocked, the thought of having to wear a swimsuit. The last thing you want to worry about is pesticides, but we’re sorry to say my friends, they’re used in products for down there as well. (more…)
