The New Face of Beauty is Organic
Date: August 10, 2008 | Category: Beauty, Makeup

One of the most frequent complaints we hear from environmentally-conscious consumers is the amount of green associated with green living. Buying organic produce at Whole Foods is certainly healthier than standard supermarket products, but it often carries a premium mark-up. This is why we always recommend stocking up at your local farmer’s market. In terms of finding moderately priced make-up, however, the pickings remain slim. Physician’s Formula Organic Wear is looking to change the face of earth-friendly cosmetics. Offering a full line of organic, non-toxic beauty supplies, all of their bronzers, lipsticks, eye-liners, powders and other girlie goodies are available at Walgreens from around $7 to $15 and are completely free of synthetic additives, GMOs and parabens. Made from certified organic ingredients, the line is cruelty-free. Even their biodegradable packaging is made from corn-based bio-plastic.
The leafy recycled paper compacts are a bit more modest than their slicker, PVC-laden counterparts, but their earthy ingredients make them a stand-out. Even the most sensitive-skinned members of the ecofab crew found the products safe to wear, easy to apply and quick to wipe away. Zem’s especially fond of the juicy superfruit lipgloss with extracts of goji berry, acai and pomegranate. All told, we think this is a beautiful new development.

I have to say that love my new Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara. Finally some affordable and effective beauty products that don’t contain parabans and other toxic nasties!
