Ever since I met Majora Carter at the TED conference back in ‘06 (as she wooed us with her presentation on Greening the Ghetto), I’ve adored her and followed her activism as the founder of Sustainable South Bronx, among her other inspired work. What she’s done for her hometown is nothing short of amazing (check it out here). Today (June 21st), we have the opportunity to join her efforts at the 2nd Annual Hunts Point Hustle 5K Race, in which proceeds go to urban forestry efforts along the race’s route - or greening the Greenway as they call it. So New Yorkers, Register here and tie up those activist laces of yours. Everyone else, Contributions will get you there in spirit.
